Hanger Bar closed...

Sad news: Hanger Bar in the East Village is closed! Annie, remember when you took me there for a random 2-for-1 happy hour? Tear.

Back to this dumb paper I'm writing on Middlemarch from the BU Law library...

THE HORROR!!! no, i mean, its ok. ill get over the hanger bar. although, i did always have a soft-spot in my heart for their "staten island iced tea": iced tea mix with vodka. nothing more, nothing less. pretty grossly delicious. i fact, i think i actually made you get a pitcher of that with me once. it was just one of those places that was always quiet (when i was there!), never busy, and just nice. although the place moving in will likely be the same (same owners and all), i will still remember odd conversations being had at the bar btwn the bartenders while their friends hung out. im getting misty eyed. well, ok, NOT. this is a long comment, i know. the only bar around me that ive been to is called "on the rocks." its long, narrow, and sketchy, and was full of men, in varying ages, except for me & one other woman. on the upside, our beer & scotch cost $7. total. so, you know, patty- when you do get down here for a visit, we can surely spend many an hours there refreshing in the low-priced sketchy drunkenness. my top other place is still the outdoor-tikish bar that ben & i also went to, down on south beach. again, very unpretentious and kind of hilarious. WOW longest comment ever. i love you p!
